I am currently in my final semester of B.Tech(ICT)
at DA-IICT, Gandhinagar. In the past year I have had the opportunity
to work in the field of computational biology. Currently affiliated
to Gupta Lab, I have
been working on my B.Tech Project under the supervision of
Prof.Manish K. Gupta in enumerating DNA Codes that avoid secondary
structure formation under Hamming distance.

I did my schooling from Army School Ambala
in Haryana, India. I am interested in exploring new fields
of biological research. I am an avid quizzer and have a keen
interest in history, businesses, football and movies.

- Rahul Bhaskar: DNA Word Design. B Tech Project Technical
Report DA-IICT 2007, Currently in Progress
Abstract
The Design of DNA sequences is one of the most important
research topics in the field of DNA Computing. Several
algorithmic approaches have been used to maximize the
number of sequences obtained from the alphabet {A, C,
G, T } that satisfy different combinatorial constraints
with varying results. In this project, I consider the
problem of designing DNA codewords with constant GC content
that avoid secondary structure formations. The codes shall
be enumerated using the stochastic local search algorithm
and the template design method and a comparative study
would be done based on the runtime of the methods and
the quality of results obtained.
