Shikhar Kumar Gupta

Student at Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology
Developer at Laboratory of Natural Information Processing at DA-IICT

I am currently pursuing B. Tech. Information and Communication Technology(ICT) at Dhirubhai Ambani Institute Of Information and Communication Technology as a final year student. I am also part of the Laboratory of Natural Information Processing at DA-IICT working on research projects involving development and design of softwares based on DNA Self-Assembly, Chemical Reaction Networks and Error correction in DNA Codes.

A short CV on my works and experiences can be viewed/downloaded from this link.

Developed at the Laboratory of Natural Information Processing at DA-IICT (Gupta Lab at DA-IICT), 3DNA is a software suite that can be used to model/design/visualize complex shapes using single stranded DNA bricks. 3DNA also has an integrated sequence generator which provides the DNA sequnces corresponding to the shape designed.
Guide: Prof. Manish K Gupta
Environment:Java,Java 3D.

Software Website

The software was selected for poster presentation at the 11th Annual Conference on FOUNDATIONS OF NANOSCIENCE: SELF-ASSEMBLED ARCHITECTURES AND DEVICES (FNANO14)

DNA Pen is a software interface that provides user friendly interactive environment to aid scientists and users in making 2 D shapes at nanoscale using DNA. The software provides error free DNA sequences which can be used to envisage the shape drawn at nano- scale.
Guide: Prof. Manish K Gupta
Environment:JAVA.

Software Website

The software was selected for poster presentation at the 19th International Conference on DNA Computing and Molecular Programming (DNA19)

A group project activity management website, I was involved in the design and implementation of the database and the user interface of the website. Developed a message passing interface for the platform and significantly contributed in the integration and testing of the final website.

Guide: Prof. Asim Bannerjee
Environment:Javascript, HTML5, Twitter Bootstrap.

A Database Management System for a peer-to-peer file sharing software with IMDB like features eg.(requesting new files, ratings, comments etc). I was involved in the design and implementations of the database, relevant queries, triggers and console integration.

Guide: Prof. P. M. Jat
Environment:PostgreSQL, JDBC, JAVA.

Designed a client-server implementation for a tracker device that connects to a server and sends information and files along-with real time message passing.

Guide: Prof. Sanjay Chaudhary
Environment: C, BSD Sockets

Research Internship

This internship at the end of third year was to familiarize with the research done in the areas of DNA Computing and Molecular Programming, so as to develop insight for research capabilities.
Project: Understanding the DNA Self Assembly process, and developing a software to aid drawing at nano-scale.
Guide: Prof. Manish K Gupta

Rural Internship

This internship was at the end of first year to familiarize with the socio-economic and living conditions of the rural India, so as to develop ICT applications for improving the living standards of the rural folk.
Project: Social analysis, gauging problems and suggesting solutions under the field of Women Empowerment, Health and Education, and Skill development in various villages.
Guide: Prof. Ganesh Devy
